Three accounts of the journey through my life: my thoughts, photos, and footage.

Trust in Your Gifts & Talents.

Mr. & Mrs. Ikeme's 25th Wedding Anniversary

3rd - 6th

Before I started creating this Collection, I was really nervous.

Why? Because I thought I lost my “mojo” or ability to capture a moment…

but in my time of sulking, God came and gave me a pep talk:

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

- 1 Peter 4: 10-11

The gifts and talents we have cannot be replicated, duplicated, manufactured, cloned, or LOST, because He specifically crafted it for us individually. Walk confidently in your blessing! God has given us our abilities for a reason. Stay in accordance with God’s Will and He will continue to fortify your gifts and talents even when you may think they are no longer within you. So don’t be afraid! Instead, always have faith.

Now here we are, about to dive into Collection 002.

God gave me the confidence to create this Collection I have prepared for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

FIRST STOP: Bay Area, CA, for the Ikeme Wedding Anniversary.

TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF MARRIAGE?! What a blessing that must be.

Although, I’ve only been alive to see 21 years (and have only recalled maybe 15 years) of Uncle and Aunty’s marriage, I’ve seen how blessed and strong God created their union to be. The two of them are always in high spirits and joyful together. It’s hard not to smile being in their presence.

We had to fly up from the south side of California and celebrate this monumental period in their lifetime, especially since the Ikemes asked my parents to be their Maid of Honor and Best Man.

As you can see, we didn’t go alone! The Apakama family flew over from SoCal to the Bay too.

(Thank you Uncle Festus for your special appearance in my photo lol!)

I don’t know anyone else in this entire world who loves to take pictures as much as my mother does. If it’s not pictures of herself, she wants pictures of every single person and thing in sight. The person usually tasked with the job is me! This entire gathering consisted of me capturing the love and happiness from family coming together in celebration.

I guess you can see where I get my passion for content creation from.

It’s cute, lol!

Her favorite photos to take are ones of my father and I alone or accompanied by her. 8/10 times, my father and I are usually moaning and groaning NOT to take the pictures, but surprisingly we complied with no hesitation.

If you couldn’t tell, I am definitely my father’s child; with anything he does, I’ve always been his “yes [wo]man”.

Onyi and Ugochi Apakama are what we call, “the lives of the party.”

Trust and believe they know how to make a good time out of any event we attend together and this wedding anniversary was a prime example of that.

It’s never a dull moment with these two.

Honestly, this was an amazing weekend. My family and I had the privilege of spending time with loved ones that we haven’t seen in years. Not only was it a great time with family, it was a monumental time in my development as a creative.

I am confident in the creative God designed me to be.

Trust me, this is the last time I’ll ever question that.

Thank you God, the Ultimate Creator for giving us the ability to tap into Your creative mind and use our gifts + talents in Your name.

I am forever grateful.

The Leader in You.

First Week of School

19th - 25th

I’m READY to step into my senior year of college and lead.

Already starting my last and final year of college as Baylor’s African Student Association President… That’s crazy! With a new year comes more responsibility, but God said I’m ready for it and that goes for you too! If we weren’t, we wouldn’t be where we are today, don’t you agree? The leader in you has been equipped for this exact moment in your life and because of that, you will not fail. Yes, there will be trials and tribulations, but they will not break you… instead they will prepare you for the journey ahead. Be ready for God’s blessings.

God’s blessings over the year are SET.

It’s a GO! Why? Because God has already worked everything out for your good.

Make the best of this year.

Letter for an Ingenious Storyteller.

Creators are rapidly and constantly changing the way we view the world through content. Rather than conforming to society's standard, we innovate and create art that mirrors our perspective. Asiyami Gold, a freelance multi-faceted creative content curator, is using her unique perspective to make a lane of her own through art. She is looking for a blog intern to coordinate and execute her brand's marketing strategy and I am confident that I will add value to the role, if given the opportunity.

ASIYAMI GOLD provides a singular view of beauty and exploration, with [a passion for design, photography, and travel] each serving as an entry point to weave the wanderlust, the elegant, and the memorable.

As a visual storyteller, she takes content creation to a level foreign to many. Never have I ever come across art expressed in such a mesmerizing and carefree manner with the utmost originality.

SAN DIEGOOO, I Have Arrived.

December 15th, 2017 - December 17th, 2017

"The SAN to my DIEGO... the DIEGO to my SAN... I am here." This was exactly what I needed: a BREAK from classes, grades, and sleepless nights in the library. Honestly, the trip to San Diego was extremely entertaining for me and the best way to enter into the winter break. Beverly, Buchi, and I, had to somehow keep up with Chikodili and her immense amount of energy, went on a mini expedition through Buffalo Exchange & Fashion Valley Mall, and listened to Chimezie rant on about Beverly's expenses at the MAC store.

Our trip to San Diego was filled with spontaneous moves and activities, but overall was one of the best memories I've ever had with my friends.

Bowling Is NOT My Thing... LOL.

December 23rd, 2017

It's always a must to catch up with childhood friends whenever coming back into town. We catch up on all the things we've missed while being away at our different universities. Usually, we'll go out for a simple dinner (or spice it up and include the movies, too), but this time bowling was our bonding activity. You see, the way "bowling" and I match up... let's just say bowling is NOT my thing... LOL. Rolled a few gutter balls and landed a couple spares here and there, but in my defense, I hadn't bowled in quite some time prior to this. I really tried my hardest to come through with that W, but instead I finished with that L. I tried, shaaa. In the midst of my atrocious playing, I was happy to be sharing moments of laughter and love with my friends. Any time is a good time when we're all together.

'Tis the Season to Be Jolly.

December 24th, 2017 - December 25th, 2017

Can you guess what my favorite holiday is? It's CHRISTMAS! My family and I start to get into the "Christmas spirit" as soon as it hits 12AM that next morning after Thanksgiving: My mom will keep the radio set on 103.5FM for 24/7 Christmas music; my dad will pull out the Christmas lights; and my uncle and I will scream Christmas carols all around the house. Christmas is a family affair. It's our time to come together thanking God for the miracle of His son and treasuring the family time we have together while I'm not away at school.

"Family" for me consists of much more than just my immediate family members. It includes my mom, dad, family friends, the whole Igbo Catholic Church Community of Los Angeles, the cousins I call my cousins that actually aren't my cousins, and the list goes on and on. Anyone who has impacted my life and/or brought joy to my life is family and I am so blessed to have each and every one of these individuals in my life.

(P.S. Please, let me explain that interesting photo of me. While my aunt was taking the first picture of me, she lost grip of my camera, fumbled it a bit, and almost dropped it... but we thank God my camera was unharmed in the process.)

Farewell, 2017.

January 1st, 2018

2017 was the year of self discovery. God revealed to me a piece to the puzzle of the leader He has called me to be. It was a lot to take in at first (and still is a lot), but I have come to terms with it. He wouldn't have declared it upon my life if it couldn't be accomplished. Plus, I'm not doing it alone because He will guide and protect me along the way. From that discovery, I decided to officially brand myself personally and professionally, debut my website, create quality content, and confidently push towards my career goals, all in 2017.

Now, 2018 is the year of opportunity, intentionality, and obedience. God will exceed my expectations and provide me with an abundance of opportunities that will continue to form and shape into the light He has called me to be. With all these opportunities, I must be intentional and obedient in seeking Him in everything that I do because after all, I am living this life for His glory.

I honestly have no clue as to what 2018 may entail but I am handing this year over to God and trusting that He will get me through it.

Farewell, 2017.
